I recently received a response from New Zealand as a reflection of one of my articles in ‘Parasite’:
“For me the Kiss music was always Paul Stanley, the Kiss show was always Gene Simmons. I think Paul is a true musician who always has songs coming out of him. Like Bruce Springsteen, he’s always writing at least 2 or 3 albums. And so does Paul. He needed to create something musically so he did his solo Live to Win album. Eventually he needed another avenue or outlet, like painting or now, a new album. He won’t stop no matter what becomes of Kiss over the next 5 or so years.”
“Sonic Boom has some great stuff, mostly Paul’s, but the sound, to me is same guitars, same sound. As for Ace’s album, every song has a different feel and sound. And you are so right about Sonic Boom’s solos (Tommy) just copying Ace’s stuff – to me that’s shocking. Sure that’s a Kiss sound but even Bruce Kulich and vinnie came up with their own solos and still sounded like Kiss, if you know what I mean.”
